Mumbai, 22 August 2018: Reliance Communications Limited (RCOM) today announced the launch of Reliance IP Centrex, the country’s first hosted Enterprise IP telephony solution powered by the futuristic IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network core. Reliance IP Centrex will offer high-quality, feature-rich voice telephony to individual users at the workplace, while equipping the enterprise with effortless manageability of its usage.

“Today’s hyper-connected world demands workplaces to be facilitators of seamless communication, collaboration and flexibility. We are happy to introduce IP Centrex which will play a catalyst’s role in bringing about a unified, converged and easily manageable communications ecosystem for Indian enterprises,” Bill Barney, CEO Reliance Communications & Chairman/CEO of Global Cloud Xchange, said. “Reliance IP Centrex comes with a rich suite of features, with which the telephone will shed its interruptive character and become interactive, molding its behavior in sync with the user’s preferences, location and engagements,” he added.

Enterprises subscribing to the IP Centrex service neither have to invest in a PBX nor maintain a separate ‘Voice’ network for their telephony needs, thereby making significant savings in upfront as well as operating costs, and reaping the advantages of an integrated IP communications network. The service brings a host of features to the end-user’s fingertips, including HD Voice, call forwarding to other numbers, personal attendant, conferencing, automatic call repeats and caller notifications, to name just a few. While the service is primarily designed for IP phones, it is also compatible with analog phones using gateways. Different privileges can be extended to individual users within the subscriber organization, depending on business requirements.

Reliance Communications is the country’s first telecom operator to roll out a pan-India advanced network for IP Voice services and traffic delivery. IP Centrex is built around a highly sophisticated architectural core for delivering IP multimedia services (IMS Class 5), riding on a robust countrywide footprint constructed on one of the world’s largest Fiber Backbone and Metro Ethernet Networks (MEN).

With the addition of IP Centrex, RCOM’s IP Voice portfolio gets further bolstered. Through this portfolio, Reliance is enabling enterprises in India to reap the benefits of seamless communication in an IP-centric ecosystem.
